Bocconi University (UBIEFE)

Bocconi University - Centre for Research on Energy and Environmental Economics and Policy (UBIEFE)

Bocconi logoSince 1957, UBIEFE has emerged as a top-class international research centre in the fields of energy and environment policy and economics, as well as the economics and regulation of public utilities. This is the result of our multi-disciplinary approach and ongoing relationships with institutional and economic stakeholders. A crucial feature of UBIEFE is our independence, which comes from being part of Università Bocconi. It is fuelled by cooperation and dialogue with other European research centres and through academic networks. Our research is disseminated through publications, seminars and workshops, and is the core of our contribution to the University.

Global and local policies for climate change are among the key research areas of the centre. Among the topics recently explored, great attention has been given to mitigation policies implemented at urban level, GHG monitoring and reporting, and planning of local GHG reduction measures.

Why we are involved in COOPENERGY

We are a technical partner, with research experience on regional and local policies for sustainable energy. We want to contribute our knowledge on local CO2 reduction policies, financing mechanisms for CO2 reduction projects and measures, as well as on tools for sustainable energy planning.

What we want to achieve from COOPENERGY

We would like to improve our understanding of the conditions that enable effective and efficient Multi-Level Governance for sustainable energy in order to be able to support in a more effective way regional and local authorities in identifying solutions to achieve their sustainable energy targets.

Update
