In our good practice of the week, find out how the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur (PACA) and Regional Environment Agency (ARPE PACA) collaborated to create practical guidance on sustainable planning. The guide aims to support the creation of more coherent “PLU – Plan Local d’Urbanisme” documents (obligatory land-use and spatial planning documents for municipalities in France).

Good Practice of the Week: H-O-T Bioenergy – innovatively using biomass in Germany

In our good practice of the week, find out more about Hohenlohe-Odenwald-Tauber (H-O-T) Bioenergy – a limited liability company founded by three counties in Germany to increase the use of biomasss energy across the counties, which comprise over 10% of utilized agricultural land of the Baden-Württemberg federal state.


This innovative use of bioenergy is intended to develop the regional renewables market and create jobs.

In our good practice of the week, find out how the Central Finland Region worked with its cities and rural areas to increase their competitiveness and reach climate goals for 2020. Through the work of the EU BalticClimate project, counties and municipalities within the Central Finland region were able to develop a plan that deals with climate change in a cooperative, integrated and sustainable way.

SEM Energies Posit'If aims to support all aspects of the renovation, from upskilling actors of the building sector on energy improvements, to design and implementation of the renovation works as well as supporting their ongoing operation and maintenance.

Good Practice of the Week: SEL Energy Company, Basilicata region

In our good practice of the week, find out more about the SEL Energy Company of the Basilicata region. The innovative multi-level governance structure of the company enables energy services to reach a wide group of municipalities in the region.

SEL supports municipalities to purchase energy, provides technical assistance on developing energy plans (e.g. SEAPs) and supports the realisation of energy efficiency and renewable energy measures across the region.

Register! COOPENERGY final conference: presentation of results

On 3rd December 2015 in Paris, in parallel to the UNFCCC's much awaited COP21, the COOPENERGY consortium will present the results of their activities carried out throughout the project from April 2013 to April 2016, and how further regions and local authorities can use these results, tools and lessons to adopt a multi-level governance approach for their respective sustainable energy planning.
